The interview for this year is currently being planned. Some of the topics that you can expect, amongst others that are being finalised, are:
We know that many of you will no longer be in education, and we are interested to hear about whatever you may be doing, whether you are working full time, looking for a job, looking after your family and home, or just taking some time out.
You can expect to hear from us again in May this year. As with previous years, you will receive a letter before you take part in the interview which will include a gift voucher for £8 as a thank you for taking part in the study. In addition to this, those you of you who gave us your email address will receive an email explaining this year’s study.
This year instead of an interviewer calling round to your house like previous years, we will be inviting you to take part online. To do this you will need to follow the link given on your letter or email, and type in your personal reference number. You will be taken through this year’s Next Steps automatically. Don’t worry if you don’t normally have access to the internet, or if for some other reason you can’t complete it online, because if you haven’t taken part within two weeks of receiving your letter and email, an interviewer will call you and you will be able to do it over the phone.
Please remember to get in touch with us if any of your contact details have changed. You can do this by completing the change of address form on this website, alternatively you can call or email us.We would like to say a big thank you for all the help you have given so far. Last year’s interview was a huge success and we spoke to just under 12,000 of you. We hope as many of you as possible will take part in the study this year. Of course, all DCSF studies are voluntary and we rely on your help. All young people in the study were chosen to give an accurate picture of the whole country, and therefore your views can not be replaced with anyone else’s.
