Latest News- Coming up this year

Some of the topics that you can expect in the 2010 interview are:

  • What you are currently doing
  • Your ambitions for the future
  • Apprenticeship and training schemes
  • Your experiences at university or college
  • The work that you do
  • What you do in your spare time
  • Your health and wellbeing
  • Socialising and friendships
  • Looking after your children (if you have any)

We are interested to hear about whatever you may be doing, whether you are going to university or college, working full time, looking for a job, looking after your family and home, or just taking time out.

You can expect to hear from us again in spring 2010. As with previous years, you will receive a letter before you take part in the interview. The letter will include a gift voucher for £10 as a thank you for taking part in the study.  If you gave us an email address you will also receive an email with similar information.  Like last year, this year we will be asking you to take part online. The letter and email will contain a link to the web survey. All you need to do is follow the link and you will be asked to enter your personal reference number (you will find this in the letter and email), and you will be taken through the survey automatically. If you would prefer you can complete the survey over the telephone, or face to face in your home with an interviewer like in previous years.  An interviewer will call you if you haven’t completed the survey online within a couple of weeks.  You can always get in touch with us however to let us know if you would prefer this.

We would like to say a big thank you for all the help you have given so far. Last year’s survey was a huge success and we spoke to just under 10,000 of you. We hope as many as possible will take part in the study this year.  All Department for Education (previously known as the Department for Children, Schools and Families) studies are voluntary and we rely on your help.
